As CNN specifies, this father has chained the push-ups in his gym located in Brisbane. This is the fourth time a new record has been set for this feat in the space of three years.

In total, he trained for three years to gain strength and muscle mass. Lucas Helmke smashed the record at the Iron Underground gym last November. His feat was certified by the Guinness Book of Records in March.
Note that the former record holder, an Australian named Daniel Scali, had performed 3,182 push-ups in April 2022. The latter had also won the world record for the longest abdominal plank.
For his part, Lucas Helmke published the Guinness World Records certificate on his Facebook page. Given the competition, it is not certain that his record will hold for long.
Indeed, local media based in Florida reported that American Rob Stirling, 60, managed to do 3,264 push-ups in less than an hour at the end of March. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by the organization.
Lucas Helmke, meanwhile, is already aiming for other records.
