In England, a surreal scene occurred near Nottingham: a cat saved his mistress from a heart attack.
It is well known: cats have nine lives. And one of them has just offered one of his to his mistress. Indeed, a feline saved its owner from a heart attack. To do this, he settled on her chest before meowing to wake her up.
The facts took place on August 8 in Stapleford, a town located in the county of Nottinghamshire ( England ). That day, Sam Felstead, a 42-year-old receptionist, did not expect to experience the most agonizing night of her life.
The one who lives with her mother Karen and her cat Billy went for a walk with her dogs before going to bed. While she slept, she was awakened by the meowing of her cat, around 4:30 am.
And the least we can say is that the Briton was in bad shape: » I woke up in the early morning, covered in sweat and unable to move ,» she told Metro UK magazine.
Before adding: » Billy was installed on my chest and meowing loudly in the hole of my right ear «. Note that the forties felt a sharp pain on the right side.
Sensing something was wrong, she alerted her mother before driving to the hospital with her. On the spot, the doctors revealed to her that she was having a mild heart attack. Luckily, Sam got away with it, thanks in particular to the flair of her pet .
In an interview with the daily Indian Times, the receptionist indicated that she felt well before going to bed: “ I didn’t feel sick and I had no pain ”.
One thing is certain: Billy saved his life by meowing insistently, an unusual behavior that challenged his mistress: “ He was really meowing. He doesn’t act that way normally, he sleeps all day and all night ,” the miracle worker explained.
For her part, Lucy Hoile, an expert in feline behavior, delivered her own explanation. According to her, Billy may have sensed his mistress’s physiological changes:
“ It could be that the fact that he jumped on her and mewed was a sign of her anxiety . I think he probably saved his life, because that ‘s what got him medical help, but I wouldn’t say he did it on purpose, he was reacting to the situation .
