For the last walk of her dying dog, a woman appealed to dozens of people on social media, inviting them to join them on a beach.
Friday February 3, Sarah Keith had a real nightmare when she discovered that her dog, named Ella, had a malignant tumor.
Faced with this situation, the Briton had to make the heavy decision to euthanize her animal in order to put an end to her suffering.
A moving last walk
As the 11-year-old pooch’s days were numbered, Sarah decided to give him one last unforgettable walk. To do this, the forties published a message on Facebook two days later, in which she invited her contacts to join her on a beach to say goodbye to the dog.
“ I thought maybe people who knew her could come ,” she told the Metro daily. She was far from suspecting that her publication was going to touch the heart of a large number of Internet users.
On D-Day, more than 30 dogs and about 25 owners were present at the meeting place. Ella, who also suffered from arthritis, spent part of the morning playing with her peers, to the delight of her mistress.
“ There was a group of people with border collies , and Ella loved having fun with them. At one point, there were six or seven of them chasing the same ball ”.
One thing is certain: this day was placed under the sign of emotion for everyone.
Puppy, the quadruped was supposed to help a farmer, but he refused to guard the flock of sheep. When he was one year old, he entrusted to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), the first animal welfare association founded in the world. It is in this context that the young dog was adopted by Sarah.
