In January 2023, a walker discovered a box containing nine abandoned puppies, in the forest of Melun, in Seine-et-Marne. By bringing them home, safe from the freezing temperatures, he saved their lives.
There are sometimes destinies that intersect and encounters that turn out to be life-saving. In the middle of the cold winter, last January, a man was walking with his dog in the forest of Melun, in Seine-et-Marne. That’s when his faithful companion gets agitated and pulls hard on the leash to lead him to an unusual path.
It is there that the walker falls on a box that seems alive, and he discovers nine puppies there while it is very early in the morning, and it was very cold. From then on, the walker has the good reflex to save them and bring them home to protect them from the cold and warm them up.
He then contacted the 30 Millions d’Amis foundation and it was the Tuilerie shelter based in Saint-Hilliers that took in the nine puppies.
“They must have only been a few days old when we picked them up. With this temperature, they are miraculous” testifies Anne Puggioni, the director of the refuge, to the regional media La République de Seine-et-Marne.
The puppies are not weaned and the shelter strives to breastfeed them every three hours to ensure good growth. For two months, the shelter will take care of the nine puppies so that they can be adopted.
Today, the nine brothers in misfortune are all in good health and are therefore available for adoption, as announced by the shelter on social networks. They are described as greedy and full of life, and are eager to meet their future family.
A story that ends well when their chances of survival were considered “very slim” . The nine puppies can thank chance and the flair of the dog walker who put them on the road to their destiny.
