Dog and cat, who says you can’t? Even a song said so, to underline the fact that even two animals considered so distant can be friends.
This is definitely the case of Belle and Bears, an inseparable couple from Denver: they are respectively a Newfoundland and a kitty, who are best friends, and not only that, because Belle has become a real emotional support indispensable for Bears. In short, pet therapy also works to the benefit of cats: in fact, the only way to keep Bears calm at the vet is to bring Belle along. The owner of the two animals, Emily, posted some videos and photos of the couple on Instagram, showing how Belle is able to reassure Bears at the vet. The cat, Emily explains, gets very anxious when brought into the practice, «so we bring Belle with us too. The vets were the ones who asked us to bring Belle because Bears is so much calmer and better behaved when he has his big sister by his side. In fact, she’s not just a sister to him . She’s his soulmate dog.»
Emily tells the Mirror that she noticed the special bond between her two animals when Belle was just eight weeks old, and the cat cared for this big pup as if she were his own. And Belle «has always been so gentle, brave and curious.»
The two spend a lot of time in the backyard, playing, sometimes even ‘wrestling‘ under the eyes of the owner who never would have bet that such a deep bond would be created between her dog and her cat. «Bears has not always been well in the company of dogs, in fact at first I was a little worried, but they loved each other from the first moment, as if they understood that they were brothers.»
